If our fate is predetermined,
then what role does chance play in our lives?
Does the kiss of fate mean a date with doom,
or merely a reminder to take note
of what might be
if we just pay attention?
Do we take the kiss
and smile with delight
at the chance we have been given
to see the perfect alignment
of the stars?
I'm not sure about predetermination, but I do think being aware is important. So is how we respond to our epiphanies and what kismet sends our way. We change every day. The question is, are we changing for the better? That is up to us, I think, not kismet.
